€40,000 plus benefits; Pension, 25 days holiday, 8% annual holiday pay. 1 year contract.

Centroid Media specializes in developing vertical search engines and we are now growing and investing in the mobile applications market to promote the service of our high profile, household brands in the information services industry. Kgb is a privately held, New York-based company and the world's largest independent provider of directory assistance and enhanced information services.
An exciting opportunity has now arisen for a mobile application developer, iOS and/or Android, to join their team.
This is the ideal role for a talented developer, with a strong skill set and plenty of commercial experience, looking to progress their career with an innovative global brand.
As a Mobile Application Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing new functionality in mobile applications, so we need your creative flair and your technical ability to create apps from scratch. The apps you create will need to have dynamic applications that consume content from multiple sources, including social interaction and real time transaction. So you will really need to know your stuff.
Joining a dynamic team in a fast-paced business, you will also provide bespoke customizations and consult directly with a variety of internal teams. You will also be able to bug fix and share your wide ranging knowledge with the rest of the team.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Detailed understanding of Objective C and the iOS development toolkit and/or Java and the Android development toolkit, HTML5, Javascript, CSS, REST, XML, JSON
- Ability to translate user interface design specs into native UI code
- Proven working knowledge of API design and implementation
- A software engineering background
- A proven track record of developing successful mobile applications.
- Evidence of past projects is essential, and anything that demonstrates dynamic applications that consume content from multiple sources, with social interaction and real-time transactions would be a distinct advantage.
- Experience working within a fast paced product development environment, with distributed teams and stakeholders.
Education to degree level in a technical discipline would be a distinct advantage.
As a Mobile Application Developer you must have the ability to think creatively and use your initiative. Strong communication skills coupled with excellent organizational abilities are also prerequisites.
Although not essential, an understanding of tablet specific application design and implementation and a working knowledge of Android, Windows, Blackberry application development would be advantageous.
Additionally, full SDLC, agile methodologies and an understanding and appreciation of best practice software engineering practices (TDD, CI and managing SCM Processes) would be an advantage.
